JANET 'S CARD

 Janet, Janet, Janet
I yell hear and now
I tell of yesterday
Gaborone, Block seven to Gabane
I still hold this production
Carlton 's product
Red and 'hearted' on the outside
I do not know drawing
I hated it
But they brushed this heart on the card
Two portions
Left portion mine, right one yours
All clung together

Reminiscing of yesterday
They say is their day
My day
Our day
Never was it mine
The day was gloomy
It was supposed to have gleamed
You switched off the lights
Switched off your phone
Abandoned your promise

Time you promised to so share with me
All you granted was your spine
Left me in the blues
With a red card; love card with symbolism
Yet you gave me a red card
So you never spat
I had your valentine 's card
Wrote you a poem to sing when you reached
A serenade
A ballad

You I never saw
I waited in vain till now
14 February 2009
To date I hold the card
Write more poems for the card
I see your image on it
I will keep this till it I deliver
They may come and leave or stay
It will live till it falls into your palms
Janet your card awaits delivery
THIS IS JANET 's CARD

Nb: Hearted used on the poem is not a grammatical error- it only means that the card had a drawing of a heart
