Before anything

From the skull-feeders,
As I granted you my spine;
As I take a paw back
The same day.
As I saw you enter
The skull-feeding kraal,
I stretched my arms for you to hold,
In the arms you fell.

I felt your tiny arms and shoulders:
Enclosed into my arms.
I felt warmth.
Even though not for my palms,
I know I crossed to your slides.
Mine slides traversed unto yours.
I held your slides with mine
Like we are one.

Sweet, sweet cherries.
I smelled them.
Soft, cherubic and tender lips.
A man does not want to put a paw back:
A feeling for a bewitched inner atom
As you did perch on my lap
A sister as you were
And me being a brother as I were to you.

I haven’t caressed a book back home.
Not even some belly-fillers.
You just need ink and a page:
A route to relieve feelings from the cage.
Let me lay words on your existence.
Salute you and flatter you.
You are a goddess.

Before anything I honour your existence.
